BOOK ONLINEFish ID Instructor Specialty course on Koh Tao
One of the most common questions student scuba divers ask their PADI Instructor is ‘what was that fish’. Training to be a PADI Fish Identification Instructor will help you answer this type of question, by increasing your own ability to correctly identify fish underwater. You can also offer the popular Fish Identification Specialty course to your students.
Teaching your students how to recognise what type of fish they see will make it easier for them to find the exact species they have seen after a dive.
For example, a grouper in the Caribbean will have similar shape and characteristics to a grouper in Southeast Asia, but colours and markings may be wildly different.
Know your Fish!
Koh Tao is abundant with a diversity of fish life; from schools of Trevally, Chevron Barracuda & Snapper most commonly seen at the deeper outlying dive sites such as Chumphon Pinnacle to Parrotfish and butterfly fish more often seen on the shallower reefs closer to the island.
Koh Tao has plenty of dive sites, teaming with fish that are ideal for you to conduct this popular PADI Specialty course.
The PADI Fish Identification Specialty course can be scheduled over 1 day.
You will learn how to teach your students to identify characteristics of local fish families and species, fish survey techniques and strategies including habitats and populations as well as educate them about Project AWARE activities that can help protect aquatic life.
The PADI Fish Identification Specialty course focuses on fish families and species found in the local Koh Tao diving environment.
