IDC Koh Tao • PADI IE (Instructor Examinations)
Having successfully completed all performance requirements of the PADI Instructor Development Course you are almost there. There is just one important last step….
The PADI Instructor Examinations, or ‘IE’ as it is referred to.
The PADI IE is conducted on Koh Tao by examiners from PADI Asia Pacific’s HQ in Australia. There’s 12 IE’s on Koh Tao throughout the year that are scheduled to run immediately after the IDC is complete.
So if our IDC is a 14 day program, the IE starts on day 15.
The schedule looks like this.
Day 1
AM: Orientation to the PADI instructor examination
AM: Systems, standards and procedures examination exam (90 mins)
AM: Dive Theory Exams (90mins)
AM: Lunch Break
PM: Confined water teaching presentations (swimming pool)
Day 2
AM: Knowledge development presentations (classroom)
AM: Lunch break
PM: Open Water Teaching Presentations (local dive site)
PM: PADI Instructor Examination Closing ceremony and presentation
Then, of course, after the closing ceremony and presentation it’s time for celebrations and the IE Party!
