Koh Tao Multi Platinum PADI Course Director Andrea Warren
Andrea Warren
PADI Course Director #339920
Andrea booked a diving course that would change not only the outcome of her vacation, but the outcome of her entire future.
After completing her PADI Open Water Course, she was immediately exposed to a whole new world.
Not just the underwater world, but the realm of becoming a professional diver, and what it truly had to offer.
She immediately started working towards a professional level and enjoyed the challenges and lessons that came with it.
Andrea has been working with scuba divers on a professional level for over 7 years now. Many of her students are working all around the world as scuba diving instructors.
She is also trained in technical diving and is constantly training and continuing to grow as a diver.
Before she was a PADI Course Director, Andrea was a professionally trained dancer and Dance teacher with the British Association of Dance.
She believes her dance background gave her the discipline to work hard and the fundamentals to succeed.
“Now I get to teach in a whole new classroom, that consistently inspires me every single day. One of my students was told that “her demonstrations were so clear and exaggerated, it’s as though she has been to stage school.”
I guess I found a way to combine both my passions into one. I know that as a PADI Course Director I will dedicate everything, to ensure my candidates are nothing but prepared. Not just for the Instructor exam, but for everything that comes after.”
Andrea has been working as a PADI Course Director for four years. She is heavily involved when it comes to professional development and is working directly alongside Platinum Course Director Matt Bolton.
Andrea’s present main focus of attention is with the PADI Instructor Development course and with Divemaster course candidates.
Andrea is driven by a goal to bridge the gap between professional training programs, and produce the best dive professionals possible.
Her number one objective is to prepare her candidates to succeed in the dive industry and achieve any goals they have set for themselves.
She is dedicated to training her pro-level candidates to the best of their abilities and is a huge advocate for training neutrally buoyant.
She believes that it is very important to start her candidates on the right path early on in their teaching.
Training Neutrally Buoyant is one of the pillars of the Black Turtle Dive philosophy, and something that Andrea has focused on for quite some time.
She hopes to motivate other professionals to take on the same attitude when it comes to diver training and continue to break down industry standards.
When she is not teaching Instructor Development Courses, Andrea focuses on Instructor Specialty courses.
Teaching Sidemount & Tec40 Diving Courses Koh Tao
In her spare time, she loves teaching Sidemount & Tec40 courses. She is working towards further developing her skills and to eventually become a full Tec Deep Instructor.
Andrea loves to teach, but equally loves to be the student. Her love for learning is certainly infectious and as an instructor trainer, it will keep you on your toes.
Andrea is focused on reaching out to the female demographic in the hope that girls can look up to her achievements and say, “I can do this too.”
She would like to inspire, encourage and has a passion for more female representation in the scuba diving world.
Being in a leadership position as a PADI Course Director is the perfect way for her to reach out and develop female divers all the way to professional level.
Andrea is a role model, leading by example and would like to encourage more females to get involved with Sidemount and Technical Diving.
She believes that when other women see her taking on the tasks that Technical diving can bring, it will encourage them to step outside their comfort zones and take on new challenges.
She hopes to use her influential social media outreach to promote a stronger female presence within the PADI TecRec programs.
Andrea was featured in the Go Beyond with PADI TecRec video released in 2019, which you can find on YouTube or on Andrea’s Instagram account.
“My father once said, “If you find a job you love, you will never work a day in your life.”
I think this was the best advice I could have ever received and I used it as a catalyst to find my dream job as a Course Director in paradise.
Now my goals are to share this wisdom and encourage others to do the same. I still have so much to learn when it comes to this industry.
I think that is the best part. Knowing there is so much more room for me to grow and develop.”
